ACTIVITIES NEARBY

On Balsam Lake there are 3 marinas, 2 located in Rosedale. Balsam Lake Provincial Park is located on the north part of the lake along with the town of Coboconk at its most northern tip. Balsam Lake has the highest altitude of the Trent-Severn Waterway where many lakes are connected by a series of locks. It is a favourite stop amongst boaters due to its large size and good swimming.

Coboconk (Coby) (3 km): Foodland grocery store, several restaurants (pizza/pub/family diner) and stores, Tim Horton’s Drive-Thru, She’ll gas station, Subway, Buck or Up Clearance Centre, local bakery, Kawartha Dairy ice cream bar, two hardware stores, an LCBO and beer store, rent a boat at Rosedale Marina, Thompson’s Marina or Balsam RPM, visit Canada’s smallest jail and the Coboconk Train Station (a historic Laidlaw site open for visitors from 1-3 pm during July and August), Coboconk Go-Karts & Mini-Putt

Norland (11 km): shop at the couple of general stores and eat at the always amazing Riverside Restaurant – reservations are a must! There is a Tesla charger available there

Fenelon Falls (20 km): stores including Sobeys, several museums, great antiquing, great bistro dining in town or lockside or falls view dining, and Brewery at the Fenelon Falls waterfall, enjoy outdoor live performances at The Grove Theatre

Kirkfield (22 km): short drive to general store, boasts the second highest hydraulic lift lock in the world at just under 50 feet, Balsam Lake Provincial Park Hiking Trails

Lindsay (38 km): Lindsay Square Mall, Historic Main Street shopping on Kent, take in live performances at FLATO Academy Theatre
