Explore the grounds and Eagle Lake by foot, on snowshoes or kayak, canoe, stand up paddle boards or floaties. Guests can get cozy in the cabin with a crackling fire and a communal feast at the harvest dining table.

You’ll know you are in a special place when you approach the Century-year-old stone walls that surround The Cooperage House – a lakefront luxury vacation rental cabin in Haliburton, Ontario.

Located on Eagle Lake on the site of a former cooperage that crafted wine oak barrels, the cabin combines luxury architecture and design with the careful conservation of Haliburton history.

Past The Cooperage House, sunlight filters through the trees and shines on beautiful Eagle Lake with have 700 feet of southern-exposure lake frontage here, including a gently sloping sandy-silt beach that’s just right for small children.

Glide across the lake’s calm waters anytime you want in canoe, kayak or stand up paddle board.

Take a stroll around The Cooperage House property and discover relics like the walls of the cooperage’s boiler room and metal artifacts found nearby. A hot pond on the property once thawed frozen timber to prepare it for barrel-making.

Inside The Cooperage House, find 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, and spacious, designer common areas waiting to be filled with laughter, music, food, games, and the people you love.

A stunning lake-view great room featuring 20-foot cathedral ceilings, big windows, and a wood-burning stone fireplace that warms the room and provides a centerpiece for cozy conversation.

The custom, fully-stocked, farmhouse-style kitchen will be a popular hangout. A center island with barstool seating waits to be loaded with stacks of pancakes prepared on the Jenn-Air range. At dinnertime, a harvest dining table seats 10-12. Add some ambient music from the iPod Bose docking station.

After dinner, everyone can enjoy the evening in their own way: chatting on the deck or by the crackling fire at the lakefront fire pit, reading or browsing the Internet in the sunroom (WiFi is available throughout the house), or relaxing in the hot tub. Kids, meanwhile, can head to the game room to play ping-pong or Wii gaming or to watch a movie in the big screen media room.

TESTIMONIALS

“The Perfect Winter Rental”

The cottage is truly spectacular. The large windows provide loads of natural light and fantastic views of the lake. The living room with its wood burning fireplace provides a cozy place to relax with a book. The cottage has been tastefully and comfortably furnished. The beds are perfect for a good night’s sleep.  My nieces and nephews loved the games and movie room.  We are already talking about renting it again! Nota (Feb 2023)

“Great Experience”

We visited the Cooperage House over New Year’s Eve and had a great experience. We travelled with 4 young kids who had a great time playing on the property playing in the snow, cooking marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace, walking on the lake and enjoying the hot tub. In conjunction to the local ski hill close by, we did some tobogganing on the property and there is a park close by we walked to. The cottage is lovely, big and spacious with nice rooms and a great movie and games room. We would certainly rent again. J.S. (Jan 2023)

“Great Experience”

The Family had a great experience at the Cooperage House this Autumn. The kids loved the House, the trails, the Lake and even the Haliburton town centre nearby. Thank you, Rene, for creating this wonderful memory for them! We also thank you for the professionalism from contract to check in / check out and deposit returns. Hope to see you soon again. Kathryn H. (Oct 2022)

“Magical Stay”

Our stay at The Cooperage House was magical! Treat yourself to a 6 star plus at the Cooperage House. The property was beautiful, and the views were gorgeous.  Nicely decorated and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. The kids loved the access to the beach, and we liked being so close to town. We think The Cooperage House is rather special and it seems other people do too. Fox Family (Aug 2022)

“Luxurious”

Magnificent!!! Magnificent! from the moment we arrived we were blown away. We anticipated a luxurious get-away, but it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is absolutely stunning with soaring ceilings and high- end finishes and family friendly. The inside of the house was thoughtfully and beautifully designed with many areas for both the adults and kids to relax and have fun. Fabulous decor, super comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The outdoor space was spectacular the magnificent historic stone walls, bon-fire area, badminton, and bocce ball. We loved the floating island, kayaks, and stand-up paddles boards. Great fishing too! Many seating areas outside to enjoy the gorgeous view. Beds and bathrooms were super comfortable very boutique hotel like. Rene was quick to respond to any questions that we had. She was an excellent host and we look forward to returning in the near future to this magical place. L.Turner (Aug 2022)

“Beautiful”

Can’t Thank you enough for opening up your home to us. Your place is beautiful and provided a great spot to bring our family together. The furnishings and attention to detail and layout are amazing. The area is beautiful and provided great cycling and hiking for all…..Not to mention the “great bread” at the Country Store. Great way for us to end the summer. Thank you. S.M. (Aug 2022)

“Beautiful with breathtaking views!”

Cottage was beautiful with breathtaking views of lakefront. All furnishings, beds in cottage were of excellent quality. Cottage was soothing and tastefully decorated. Amenities provided indoors (fully stocked games room with ping pong table, entertainment system in the movie room and expansive assortment of games) and outdoors (kayaks, fire pit, bocce ball, badminton, SUPs and well-maintained dock).  Made the cottage feel like a resort destination level. Travelling with young children, we were very appreciative of the first aid kit, sunscreen and bug repellent bin and even a tray of sunglasses for adults/kids to use. Kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of dishes, cutlery, utensils and appliances. All appliances were in new/excellent working condition. An assortment of serving ware for entertaining (large salad bowls, serving trays and displays) were also available. We did not use them, but it shows the thoughtfulness and consideration of the owners for guests who would be entertaining over the course of their stay. We highly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend and plan to return again in the future. E. Alfano (Aug 2022)

“Absolutely Stunning”

This was our second visit to the Cooperage House cottage and again we loved it! There was a yummy charcuterie board and wine waiting for us upon the arrival. The property and the cottage are absolutely stunning, luxurious but super cozy! The beautifully decorated interior is warm and inviting, with a spacious main room overlooking the lake and well-appointed fully stocked kitchen. Each morning, we loved sipping coffee on the deck enjoying beautiful views of Eagle Lake. We enjoyed the stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and sun bathing in the floating island as well as relaxing in the hot tub. It was a lovely short vacation for the whole family and we can’t wait to visit again. Thank you Rene for being an amazing host. —Ola. S. (Aug 2022)
