Description

Sleeps 6–10, Main Cottage, Bunkie, 1 Bathroom, A/C, Large Swimming Pool and Deck, Very Private, Flat Property, Child/Elderly Friendly, WiFi, TV, Sunroom, Beautiful Sunsets, Fire Pit, Cell Reception, Great Fishing, Canoe, Row Boat, Fireplace, Pet Friendly (TBD)

Enjoy this comfortable, cozy cottage on a private Island with private road access. The 500 ft tree lined lane through marsh and waterway opens up to this beautiful and secluded place. The 1.5 acre property is well cared for with mature poplar, cedar, birch and willow trees providing shade, habitat and beauty. It’s easy to feel relaxed from the moment you step out and look around.

The cottage is a single story ranch with 2 bedrooms and a full curved window sunroom with a fold out sofa. The living room is comfortable with a large screen TV and an extensive DVD collection. The main bedroom is in the original sunroom with large windows that opens for a lake breeze and the sound of the poplar trees.

This is a great place for families or those seeking seclusion and relaxation. Children will be entertained frolicking in the big pool and playing foosball on the outside table. The un-heated pool is 20’ x 40’ and 4½ ft deep throughout and is surrounded by a deck that has a wide clear view of the lake and marsh. There is also a large deck to the cottage door accented by a garden and large potted plants with a retractable sunshade pergola to enjoy BBQ’s and socializing.  Enjoy the sunrise from the lake and the sunset from the fire pit.

There is generally a fresh and earthy light wind over the whole property that keeps mosquitoes at bay. The marsh that extends for acres on either side of the island, has diverse wildlife including beavers, muskrats, turtles and many birds such as; loons, osprey, blue herons and Canada geese.

The water from the dock is best for fishing and canoeing. It is weedy for about a 100 ft out which makes swimming better in the pool. There are some good swimming areas around the lake including a couple of shallow sand bars in the middle of the lake that are popular on hot days.

Dusk brings out the sounds of thousands of peepers and crickets (almost as special as the call of the loon). See the glow of fireflies and listen to the breeze rustling through the leaves. Gather around the fire pit surrounded by fallen trees and stumps for seating, perfect for marshmallow roasting.

Pigeon Lake is part of the vast Trent Waterway system with Buckhorn, Pigeon and Chemong lakes connected without locks.

TESTIMONIALS

The cottage is beautiful on a perfect lake setting. It is set back off the road in a secluded area so offers the perfect escape to paradise. The cottage and property are well maintained with numerous activities to keep you busy, from fishing to the pool to games. The boat bunkie is a big hit with the kids. We have returned each year since finding it as it is the perfect cottage vacation. —Tara H. (August 2022, 2021, 2020)

The cottage is amazing. It has everything needed for a vacation, is very private and well maintained. —Tara H. (August 2021)

Peaceful and awesome for nature-lovers! The cottage is secluded from neighbours. Ken is an attentive host and wished to ensure we felt at home and able to enjoy the pool. The cottage is cozy and comfortable, spacious and the kitchen is generously supplied with everything we needed for cooking and barbecuing. Our teenagers were able to catch some smallmouth bass off the dock. We enjoyed the use of the rowboat and canoe as well. We would recommend putting the solar cover on as soon as you arrive in order to raise the temperature. Annemarie (July 2021)

This is a beautiful property, with lots of unique spaces. —Luan (July 2021)
