• Many artists have made the area their home, and they welcome visitors, especially during the popular Studio Tour in late September. This is also the beginning of our spectacular fall colour season, second to none in Ontario.
• Well-groomed snowmobile trails greet visitors in the winter. Our local trails are interconnected to the vast Ontario trail system. Cross-country skiers will find groomed trails just off Highway 28 at Silent Lake Provincial Park and the Nordic Ski Trail at Haultain. Enjoy your favourite winter sport and the crisp air of winter in Apsley and surrounding area, the hub of the North Kawarthas.

Our week stay at Chandos was nothing less than amazing. Everything about this place is perfect. We had 10 adults and 4 children (10 down to 6). Watching the childrens’ and adults’ joy in playing in the water, off the raft, off the docks and boating was balm to our souls after the year and a half we have had with restrictions with covid. The cottage is fully equipped, furniture well looked after, comfy. We absolutely loved having queen/king beds for all couples and double beds for the rest. We had room for everyone, entertainment room for the kids (away from the adults on the first floor), kitchen, deck and dock. This cottage property is safe for children which is the first thing looked for when we search for a vacation cottage. Cottage was fantastic, the owners have taken great care and everything was taken care of, the appliances were new including a wine cooler, the sunset views over the lake were awesome, we were lucky to catch the full moon set too, finally the kids had a blast downstairs and figured out how to play the VHS!!  The fall colours were picturesque just a short stroll away. – Chetan V. We had a great stay at Chandos Serenity. The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was large, modern, and had all the amenities that we could want. There was easy entry to the water, and we went swimming every day for the week we were there. The oldest person in our group was 77 and the youngest was almost two. Neither had any issues navigating the property or the house. The hosts were extremely accommodating and adapted to our last-minute complications with grace. I hope to book this cottage again!  Also, Kawartha Cottage Vacations really went above and beyond to help make the booking work out. Due to complications on my end the booking wasn’t properly processed until the last minute. Kawartha Cottage Vacations was very high-touch, and spoke with me on the phone a couple times a day to ensure that everything was smooth. Beautiful 6 bedroom very clean cottage. Perfect for family and friends getaway.  Great sandy beach for young children. Lots of privacy from neighbours.  Great lake for the boater. Fantastic cottage for a family get away. Shallow sand bottom shore with steps make this perfect for young and old. Lots of water toys to keep everyone occupied and exploring the lake around them.
