Pintwala Cottage on Isabella Island near Parry Sound has an old fashioned feel-good charm about it with modern amenities. A lovely breeze comes down the channel on hot days to cool you off. We offer comfortable eating areas inside the cottage, in our screened in porch as well as on the upper deck, which also has a large umbrella to keep the sun off while enjoying lunch.
The bedrooms are in one area of the cottage closed off by a door if you wish to keep that area private and quiet. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are open concept, facing large windows that overlook trees and the water.
The bunkie has a large open deck as well as a screened in porch with seating and a table. There is a room with a composting toilet in the bunkie for convenience at night rather than walking out back to the outhouse, which is in good condition. For further convenience, there is a private outdoor shower provided. Our intent was to discourage washing in the lake for environmental reasons.

The cottage exterior is wood siding which adds to its charm. Fire wood is under the screened in porch if needed ($25.00/cart or wheelbarrow). There is a fire pit in front of the main cottage. It is very important to be smart about lighting a fire. If there is fire ban on you will be heavily fined. Check the Parry Sound website for fire bans – zero tolerance for this. We as owners are very cautious with fire on the island. The ground is very dry, heat can travel along the roots and pop up anywhere on the island, we could lose not only our cottages but also our trees and our lives.
You will see a canoe, 2 kayaks, a 2-person water bike. They will be lying upside down on logs, please store them where you find them. Since water levels can rise with a wind change please move the water toys off the beach otherwise you may or may not find them floating around the next day.
The property is flat, sloping upward towards the cottage, there is a ramp and a push cart to make it easier to load and unload the boat at the dock.
There are approximately 70 cottages on Isabella island which is approx. 1600 acres. Cottage is on the quiet side of the island, not the main channel so there isn’t heavy water traffic.
Beautiful Georgian Bay opens up to all sorts of areas both locally and farther away.
Henry’s is a famous restaurant further south on the channel near the open water. Our water system allows the opportunity to explore the 30,000 Islands that surround our beautiful area.
Boat to Parry Sound (10 min), dock your boat at the town docks and walk into town to explore the little stores, bakery, LCBO and restaurants. You can also purchase tickets for the Island Queen and take their 3 1/2-hour tour around Parry Island. They offer sunset tours at certain times of the year.
The Stockey Centre in Parry Sound on the water front has cultural and musical events to offer. Check the website to see what is happening when you are available.
My family and I have rented cottages together for many, many years; this year we rented the Pintwala Cottage on Isabella Island and had such a wonderful experience that we are going back next year. Our host, Deborah was gracious and very accommodating to our needs. The cottage and property were well tended and perfect for all our family members, especially our grandchildren who enjoyed the beach area. The fishing was amazing too! —The Del Sole Family (Jul 2023)
The cottage was amazing and had everything you could possibly need. Plenty of water toys to chose from. Beautiful private property with amazing views of the bay. Very quiet spot on the bay with not much boat traffic while still only being a 5min boat ride to Parry Sound. The main cottage and bunkie were very modern and extremely comfortable. Plenty of space for everybody. Highly Recommend this property. —Stu M. (July 2020)
We thoroughly enjoyed your cottage. A well laid out cottage with spacious areas for everything you want to do. Great views from everywhere in the cottage. A great dock for swimming and boating. The owner was very generous and helpful during our stay. Looking forward to going back! —Steve V. (June 2020)
Our experience with KCV was outstanding again this year. They provided us with a clear contract and all the important info for the property and they helped us make smooth arrangements for our island rental. Our experience at the cottage was unforgettable, everything came as advertised and the cottage was immaculate for our arrival. We had a week of great relaxation, fishing, swimming, and boating for the whole family. KCV made our whole experience pleasurable and hassle-free. I highly recommend KCV for your next cottage vacation. —Ross G. (Aug. 2019)
