There are many places to relax outside, on the large dock, the large concrete patio under the patio umbrella or on the terraced areas on central and west boundary with 4 cast iron park benches.  Take time to frolic on the sandy beach or play on the water lily pad. Lounge on one of the two hanging chairs. There is plenty of indoor entertainment, play board games, enjoy a good competitive pool or a table tennis game.

This property is only 10 minutes from Apsley where we have everything from a well-stocked grocery store with a bakery and deli (recently burnt down and will be rebuilt ASAP) to a pharmacy, LCBO, gas station, garage, 2 general stores, post office (Amazon and UPS deliveries), library and ambulance station. 15 minutes in the other direction is a nice bakery and breakfast restaurant if you want to lunch in Glen Alda.

“Hunter’s General Store” opposite the Sayer’s grocery store that burnt down.  They are a well stocked general store. They have coolers, fresh pizza, groceries, milk, general supplies etc. and are really nice as well.   https://g.co/kgs/uHu2i1

We stayed at this beautiful and serene cottage for the Thanksgiving weekend. It was a very pleasant stay. The owners did a very thoughtful layout with all the bedrooms located on the same level. It is important as we had 4-9 y o kids with us. The cottage was tidy and clean when we arrived. It is great for entertainment as they have hot tub, pool table, tennis table and modern TV. The owners did a very creative design with oversized windows almost all around! It gives you an incredible chance to enjoy the stunning views of the lake and nature! This cottage was perfect! The upper level is spacious but cozy and well-appointed and the lower level is perfect for having a lot of fun especially on rainy days, evenings or a break from the sun. We loved the pool table, table tennis and pinball machine as well as the piano. The water was amazing and we spent many hours on the small dock for reading and relaxing. Great fishing and swimming. The floating mat was a group favourite and the hot tub was great on cool evenings or after a chilly swim. There is no A/C but the evenings were lovely and the fans in the rooms helped keep things cool. We were extremely comfortable. If you have a chance, take a boat ride down the lake to visit Shantilly’s ice cream and gift shop! We also enjoying making a fire most nights and enjoying s’mores by the water. If you are a morning person, don’t miss the breathtaking sunrises. The owner was responsive and helpful. We had an amazing time. —Lorretta N. (July 2020)
